Battery OEM testing
OEM battery testing is what makes a specification real. Chengguang tests every battery at end of line and documents the batch, so the tenth container matches the first approved sample.
End-of-line testing (100%)
- CCA — cold-cranking performance to the specified test basis.
- Capacity at C20 — stored energy at the 20-hour rate.
- Open-circuit voltage (OCV) — catches cell problems before shipping.
- Leak test — catches a case that would lose electrolyte.
- Visual — terminal alignment and case integrity.
Batch and type testing
- C20 capacity to IEC 60095-1.
- Reserve capacity to SAE J537.
- Charge acceptance.
- Vibration checks.
Documentation
Test results travel with the shipment, including a certificate of analysis (CoA) where required. Batch traceability runs from raw material lot to shipping container.
Why it matters
A specification is only as good as the test that proves it. CCA is test-method dependent (JIS at −15 °C vs EN/SAE at −18 °C), so the test basis is confirmed and reported alongside the number.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is tested on every battery?
100% end-of-line electrical testing — CCA, C20 capacity, open-circuit voltage, leak check and visual inspection.
Are test reports provided with the shipment?
Yes — test results and, where required, a certificate of analysis travel with the shipment, supported by batch traceability.
Why does the CCA test basis matter?
Because JIS tests at −15 °C and EN/SAE at −18 °C, so a CCA number without its basis is not comparable. The basis is confirmed and reported.
Can third-party inspection be arranged?
Yes — SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or your nominated inspection agency are welcome at the factory for pre-shipment verification.
